What intrigued me in this book is the theme on widowhood and the so-called boundaries that barred happiness and progress of many widows in India. The writer has chosen the theme very well while exploring the different characters and their perspective towrads widowhood. I liked the strength of female protagonist Kirthi in this book. She was shunned with no mistakes of her own but yet she fought through the claws and sharp tongues of the hypocrite society and their equally half-baked stinging notions about a widow. She made an identity of her own with the support and love from her family. The perspective of few other characters also changed the life of Kirthi ultimately making her path towards a happy and loved life.
